    • Stated: “in the military, there’s an old saying, ‘Bloom where you’re planted.’ Equality is when we all have the appropriate amount of access to sun, soil and water, allowing all of us the same opportunity to bloom. In an organization that values equity and inclusion, we all will have the right amount of sun, soil and water; then it’s up to each of us to bloom where we’re planted.”
  • Co-Authored an article about cultivating a “people-first” work environment in which she stated that one of the necessary steps was to:
    • “Cultivate diversity: According to research, a key contributor to a toxic culture is failure to promote diversity, equity and inclusion. The problem set may be the same, but there are multiple paths to get after a solution. Diverse outlooks help us look at situations in different and often better ways.”
  • Appeared in an article covering healthcare in the military in which she stated:
    • “In health care, we know that the better our diversity the better we are at meeting the needs of our patients,”
