When he was in charge of US Fleet Forces Command he put out an order that prohibited service members from attending indoor religious services. A clear violation of religious freedom.

Yet just a few weeks after his order regarding religious services, Grady posted a picture with troops in very close proximity at an indoor shooting range.

During his confirmation hearing to be Vice-Chair of Joint Chiefs he said that at fleet visits he has important conversations about racism.

Grady supports the role of “gender advisers” in the military. He told the U.S. Senate that “The role of a gender adviser is a way to attack a very significant issue, and if confirmed, I look forward to leveraging those advisers who can make me think better and smarter about the issues that you raise,” Grady said. “So I look forward to, if confirmed, understanding that ecosystem and helping advance that cause going forward.”
