- In 2022, Couture facilitated and supported Navy changes to basic training, increasing it from 8 weeks to 10 weeks, in which part of the time was dedicated “for training on extremism, diversity, inclusion, gender studies & bullying.”
- Participated and commented on the Naval Surface Forces first ever DEI symposium:
- Rear Adm. Jennifer Couture Commander, Naval Service Training Command, said: “All these Sailors truly care about DEI. The authenticity, vulnerability, and open conversation show the tremendous amount of support and importance for these principles.”
- In 2022 she participated in a gathering of the Naval Education and Training Command team to discuss strategic goals for the for the MyNavy HR program.
- During the meeting MyNavy HR noted that “Rear Adm. Jennifer Couture, NSTC’s commander, outlined how Warrior Toughness is being institutionalized throughout the fleet and how diversity, equity and inclusion efforts are working to remove systemic barriers to creating a future force representative of the nation.”
