- Linkedin post: “Looking forward to timely and important discussions about how the inclusion of gender among the factors we consider in national security deliberations helps us to be more effective at our mission!” Posted along with a “Women, Peace, and Security” symposium article.
- Wrote an article claiming Sec. Austin’s call for an institutional solution to extremism in the military is needed.
- He pontificates that extremism in the military is a major problem: “Violent domestic extremism is a long-term problem, and extremism in the military could have a devastating effect on public trust in the armed forces. The military organizational response needs to acknowledge this and address it with one of the most potent tools in the military arsenal: bureaucracy.” He further claimed: “Countering violent domestic extremism promises to be an even more challenging bureaucratic problem than enabling the success of special operations forces. It will require intrusive data gathering and extensive coordination with other government agencies.”
- Claimed “white nationalism” is a major problem in the military.
- Cites the far-left Southern Poverty Law Center to back up his claims
- Claims more bureaucracy is what is needed to combat “extremism” in the military. “Bureaucracies excel at establishing procedures, policies, and pathways for coordination — exactly the things that are needed to address the problem of violent domestic extremism in an enduring way rather than through a short-term, ad hoc fix like a task force.”
- Hodges led a podcast with a Stanford Law professor on Race and National Security
- Hodges claimed there is a crisis of racial justice
- Professor claims Trump’s travel ban was bigoted
- Claims there is a rise in white nationalist groups and violence without citing sources
- Hodges says: “during the 2016 elections we saw a concerted foreign effort to influence the election.” His guest then asks what we should do about Russian disinformation.
