- 2 During his confirmation hearing to be Vice-Chair of Joint Chiefs, said that at fleet visits he has important conversations about racism.
- 3 Supports the role of "gender advisers" in the military, telling the U.S. Senate: "The role of a gender adviser is a way to attack a very significant issue... I look forward to leveraging those advisers who can make me think better and smarter about the issues."
