- 1 Regarding so-called anti-LGBT laws, Burt said that when she chooses leaders she "also looks at their personal circumstances and their family is also an important factor." "If their family could be denied critical healthcare due to the laws in that state, I am compelled to consider a different candidate and perhaps less qualified."
- 2 "Without diversity, you struggle with new ideas. If you don't have diversity in age, gender, ethnicities and experiences, you won't get to a full picture of how best to change and make the Space Force as cutting-edge as it needs to be," Burt says.
